Jeff and Christine McKenna
We have been an elder couple at Epic Faith for about 14 years and just celebrated our 30th wedding Anniversary in October. We moved to Duluth from Frederick, Maryland, in 1992. After visiting 16 churches for 16 Sundays, we finally found Epic (then Calvary Christian Fellowship), which turned out to be the church that was closest to our home!
With our first visit, we knew God had it planned all along for us to be a part of this body of believers. We have three grown daughters—Erin, 26, Rachel, 24, and Megan, 22—all of whom grew up in the church with many fond memories and a deep love for God. Epic continues to evolve as our lives evolve and grow deeper in Christ. The name Epic well describes who we are today: Our story is interwoven with God’s story. We are all on a journey with a story to tell about our life with Him and with the people around us. Our desire is to share His story through our life, as we reach out to our community, our friends, our family, and those whom God sends our way.
Pastor Jack has been encouraging all of us at Epic to dissolve the barriers we’ve built between the spiritual and the secular and to make the gospel a natural, organic part of our daily lives. Then, as the apostle Peter instructs us, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Pet 3:15).
