Executive Director Stephanie Wolfe
Whatever doesn’t kill me makes me stronger…
You only fall off a bicycle when you stop peddling…
Life can give you lemons, make lemonade…
Some of us learn from the mistakes of others, and some of us are the others.
These phrases mean more to Stephanie Wolfe than to most of us. Pregnant at 15 years old, she married the 17 year old father to “make it right”. She endured 7 years of separations and a very real, very painful divorce becoming a single parent of two boys at 22. After only 8 months she was triumphantly remarried to the same man after a powerful restoration of their wedding vows which took place during a Sunday morning church service.
Now married over 32 years, she and Jack are proud parents of two married sons and two grandchildren. She and Jack are also fine with being the “others” whose mistakes many learn from these days. While residing in their home state of Indiana, Jack entered the ministry in 1985, and in 1987 they planted a church in Atlanta, Georgia.
They pastor a vibrant community of faith which recently purchased a resort property with tennis, basketball, and a junior olympic size swimming pool! They are meeting in the clubhouse on the property and are reaching into the 21st Century with a simple message: Love God. Love Others. So as you can see, since the restoration of their marriage and their faith in Jesus Christ, they have continued to cheat death, keep peddling, and make gallons of lemonade!
Stephanie knows about cheating death, she’s done it personally by overcoming cancer twice. The second and most devastating occurrence was in 1999, just one month after the debut of the popular one-year program Mentoring Women written by Stephanie and originally published by John Maxwell/INJOY Group. The diagnosis was Breast Cancer and treatment was a modified radical mastectomy with a year of treatment and surgeries, but in her glass-half-full fashion focuses on the days ahead with determination.
