Local Mission
Giving Back to our Local Law Enforcement Agency
Stephanie Wolfe, Executive Director and the team of servants at Epic Faith are always up to something. Their recent “something” was a Third Annual Duluth Police Appreciation Day! How cool is that? Very cool, indeed. Pastor Jack Wolfe, fires up the grill he built from brick and mortar and cooks up some delicious gourmet hamburgers for our local men and women in uniform. The women of our community of faith made the side dishes and desserts. Cafe staff cuts and chops masses of onions, lettuce and tomatoes in preparation for the big day!
Men and women of the Duluth Police Department come and go throughout the day as their schedule allows. (You are never in any danger). Their visit begins with a hug from Joy Cohen, who takes her “job” very seriously. Each officer is given a bag of goodies. Beanie Baby in a character of their choice, items for personal use as well as something for their families who stand behind them. The Epic Women’s Learning Community which normally meets on Thursday use their time to serve our guests. Chick-fil-A in Duluth provides sweet tea and lemonade to show their support! The room is decorated to show appreciation to the brave community servants, posters are hung, dishes are prepared, and the table is set in their honor. A video presentation of all previous Duluth Police Appreciation Days here at Epic Faith are shown on the big screen, and a FABULOUS CAKE with the police logo in the frosting is purchased as a special tribute! We are serious about appreciating our Police Department! The afternoon ends with drawings for Line Dance Lessons, Tennis Lessons, Golf Lessons, Art Classes and the Grand Prize of 2011-12 EPICenter Membership!
Our efforts are designed to bless those who work hard for our city. Mission Accomplished!

The Love Others Fund is proof of Epic Faith’s Love in Action!
Our church has a big heart, and is filled with thankful people who love God and Others with more than mere words. These funds will be dedicated to outreach to our “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the world” (Acts 1:8); to us this means – Duluth, Gwinnett County, United States and the entire world. We believe that our tithes are an expression and proof that we Love God, and our benevolent giving is an expression proof that we also Love Others.
You can support those in need with a tax deductable gift to the Epic Faith Love Others Fund. Simply write a check to Epic Faith and write “Love Others Fund” in the memo section, or add the amount over and above the tithe check you already write to Epic and indicate the amount to go to this fund in the memo section of your check. Encourage others in your sphere of influence to do the same. We will be good stewards of the funds and offer it to those most in need of financial aid. When we get a call it is great to say “Yes, we can help!”
Gifts to this account will also fund our annual Epic Family Christmas Project, where we choose a needy family to provide an entire Christmas including decorating, gifts, hot Christmas meal as well as the stocking of pantry.
(Note to Epic Faith members: Mature givers understand that Epic’s financial needs depend on regular support, so the tithe is as important to the Epic storehouse as your benevolent gift is to those in need, so please help us to teach people the about tithes and offerings is so that both needs can be met.)
