Pinetop, AZ 85935
Joel & Marissa Bidderman are missionaries who are passionate about prayer, worship, and social justice. Many at Epic may remember them from the times that they would lead worship at Epic. Well, Joel & Marissa have been working with Apache Youth Ministries (AYM) since 2008. AYM is a youth focused, non-denominational Christian organization that serves the White Mountain Apache tribe in northern Arizona. AYM staff members mentor Apache youth by utilizing a number of settings, all geared around living out the hope found in Jesus Christ. Whether the relationships that are built take place in AYM’s youth center, its discipleship program, its economic development program (Little Bluebird Studios), or another connecting point, AYM’s mission is to “Empower Apache youth to impact the world.”
On staff with AYM, Joel is the ministry’s Director of Staff and Resource Development as well as the Media Director for AYM’s Little Bluebird Studios, and Marissa is the ministry’s bookkeeper. Throughout the week they build relationships at the ministry’s youth center, help to lead a weekly discipleship group, and aid in administrative tasks necessary to the functioning, productivity, and growth of the ministry.

Preparing Workers for the Harvest
This past year the ministry opened three new branches of the church planting institute. One in Nagua, near the north coast, and the other in Quisqueya de San Pedro, in the east. The third, new institute operates in Santiago. Plans are in the works to re-open the Haitian Church Planting Institute this fall.
A major thrust of the ministry is the training of men and women of all ages for ministry. They offer two institute programs. One focuses on church planting, missions and church growth. The other is designed for general ministry preparation. Their institutes have graduated close to a thousand students over the past 7 years. These graduates have gone on to start numerous churches and ministries.
